Where Risks Hide

  • Hidden issues stay hidden

    • Result: unexpected failures and warranty denials

  • Scope and budget lack definition

    • Result: change orders, board pushback, and missed funding windows

  • Paper trail is weak

    • Result: decisions stall, claims drag, disputes escalate, and schedules slip

Lessons from the Field

Real projects where testing came too late—and what those outcomes teach about timing, maintenance, and verification.

Recover Over a
Saturated Roof

recover over failed roof

A due diligence survey revealed a recover installed over a moisture-laden roof system.

After purchase, the new owner faced over $1 million in remediation that could have been prevented with pre-purchase testing.

Lifecycle Stage: Plan

Warranty In Jeopardy
from Missed Inspections

roof installation with major problems

A building owner discovered widespread leaks just six years after a new roof installation.

Without QA at hand-off or annual inspections, installation errors went unnoticed—and the roof warranty was void.

Lifecycle Stage: Maintain / Resolve

Unchecked Façade Deterioration

Facade Failures

Deferred façade maintenance allowed small cracks to expand into widespread damage.

Routine moisture and condition scans could have prevented more than $60k in repair costs.

Making Complex Conditions Clear

Decision-ready data that turns field results into clear next steps

How We Do It

  • Purpose-driven technology
We combine aerial, ground-based, and direct-contact testing—selecting the right mix of tools and methods for each project. From thermal imaging and moisture meters to 3D and elevation indexing, every technique is chosen for what it reveals.
  • Verification through cross-validation
Each anomaly is confirmed through multiple tests and data sources—visual inspection, thermal mapping, and in-field moisture or substrate verification—to distinguish true failures from surface artifacts or environmental effects.
  • Documented findings with traceable methods
Decision-ready results are delivered with annotated images and supporting data tables—available in PDF, Excel, or online dashboard formats depending on the level of testing performed.

FAQs

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Q1. How quickly can you get this done? Will it impact my schedule?

A. Generally, project proposals have a 24-hour turnaround. Depending on weather, field work typically begins about a week after proposal approval. Roof field capture usually takes 1–2 days, while façade work can take 2–5 days depending on the facility. Final roof reports are typically delivered within 10–15 days, though in some cases they can be completed in as little as one week. Emergency Essential-level reporting can often be delivered by the next business day.

Q2. Do we really need third-party scans—can’t my roofer do this?

A. Your roofer builds; we document. Neutral, third-party evidence reduces disputes, aligns bids, and keeps warranties/code in bounds. Contractors use our quantities to price apples-to-apples.

Q3. What about accuracy?

A. StructuraView uses the right tool for each project and cross-checks results to ensure accuracy. Not every technology fits every job—we select and verify the best method for reliable findings.

Q4. Is this going to disrupt operations or tenants?

A. Minimal impact. Drone/roof access is brief; interior checks are targeted. We schedule around business hours and provide a short plan so teams know what to expect.

Q6. What if I only need a baseline, not a big report?

A. Our Essentials report delivers accurate baseline findings—key visuals and quantities—to plan next steps while keeping costs in check. You can upgrade to higher-level reporting later, usually without (or with minimal) re-surveying; we’ll map the upgrade path with you.

Q7. Can my contractor/consultant work from your docs?

A. Yes. We deliver a clear PDF report with annotated image overlays. If you need data tables, we can also provide CSV/XLSX on request—so consultants can fold findings into specs/drawings and contractors can price directly from locations, counts, and quantities.

Q8. What’s the ROI here?

A. Typical wins are fewer change orders, faster scope alignment, and avoided tear-offs. Clients typically more than recover our fee in reduced rework and schedule hits.

Common Use Cases

Capital Expense Planning

CAPITAL EXPENSE PLANNING

A due diligence or condition benchmark maps existing moisture, openings, and other roof and envelope defects.

Findings are organized into clear data and exhibits, creating a defensible baseline for owners, buyers, and contractors to prioritize repairs, plan replacements, and set budgets.

Lifecycle Stage: Plan

Façade Condition Mapping

FACADE CONDITION MAPPING

Cracks, sealant failures, and leak sources are identified across the building façade.

Owners and contractors can review findings through annotated imagery, monitor progress, and track resolution. The result is clear, data-backed documentation that supports coordinated repairs and informed decisions.

Lifecycle Stage: Document

Storm Damage Readiness

STORM DAMAGE REDINESS

Pre-event baselines establish verified conditions before major weather events. Rapid post-event surveys capture thermal maps, orthographic imagery, and detailed documentation of damage.

The result is defensible evidence that supports insurance claims, repair prioritization, and restoration planning.

Lifecycle Stage: Respond / Resolve

Annual Assessments

ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS

Routine inspections create a consistent record of building condition. Each assessment captures new imagery, measurements, and notes, allowing facility teams to compare year-over-year changes through the Structura View platform.
